During the 2015-2016 school year, a total of 4,365 students were tested in the West Virginia. Of the 3,558 juniors and seniors that were tested, only 0.37% were tested under Option 8. The remaining juniors and seniors had their test results sent to recruiters without parental consent.
The 20 largest testing sessions assessed a total of 1,909 students. 124 sessions tested 10 students or fewer.
The ASVAB test was conducted in 96 schools across the state. The US Military Entrance Processing Command reports that no students in West Virginia were required to take the ASVAB, although the data may suggest otherwise.
