During the 2015-2016 school year, a total of 13,243 students were tested in South Carolina. Of the 11,988 juniors and seniors that were tested, only 18.59% were tested under Option 8. The remaining juniors and seniors had their test results sent to recruiters without parental consent.
The 20 largest testing sessions assessed a total of 2,547 students. 212 sessions tested 10 students or fewer.
The ASVAB test was conducted in 238 schools across the state. The US Military Entrance Processing Command reports that no students in South Carolina were required to take the ASVAB, although the data may suggest otherwise.
