During the 2015-2016 school year, a total of 20,847 students were tested in North Carolina. Of the 15,858 juniors and seniors that were tested, only 18.70% were tested under Option 8. The remaining juniors and seniors had their test results sent to recruiters without parental consent.
The 20 largest testing sessions assessed a total of 3,775 students. 432 sessions tested 10 students or fewer.
The ASVAB test was conducted in 369 schools across the state. The US Military Entrance Processing Command reports that no students in North Carolina were required to take the ASVAB, although the data may suggest otherwise.
