During the 2015-2016 school year, a total of 8,552 students were tested in Maryland. Of the 7,287 juniors and seniors that were tested, 90.42% were tested under Option 8. The schools that failed to test under Option 8 are violating Maryland state law. The remaining juniors and seniors had their test results sent to recruiters without parental consent.
The 20 largest testing sessions assessed a total of 2,156 students. 247 sessions tested 10 students or fewer.
The ASVAB test was conducted in 197 schools across the state. The US Military Entrance Processing Command reports that no students in Maryland were required to take the ASVAB, although the data may suggest otherwise.
