During the 2015-2016 school year, a total of 53,175 students were tested in California. Of the 46,110juniors and seniors that were tested, only 31.96% were tested under Option 8. The remaining juniors and seniors had their test results sent to recruiters without parental consent.
The 20 largest testing sessions assessed a total of 7,055 students. 940 sessions tested 10 students or fewer.
The ASVAB test was conducted in 828 schools across the state. The US Military Entrance Processing Command reports that no students in California were required to take the ASVAB, although the data may suggest otherwise.
